The Belkin’s exhibitions are enriched by accompanying catalogues, which both illustrate the works shown as well as provide critical scholarship by curators and writers. The catalogues provide a document of the gallery’s programs and exist as a permanent reference of the exhibitions.

Listenings: A publication following the Soundings exhibition [$65]
Exhibition catalogue from Sixteen Hundred Miles North of Denver at the Belkin (25 June–15 August 1999) with writing by Charity Mewburn. Featuring works produced in 1969 by Iain and Ingrid Baxter (N.E. Thing Co.) from when a group of Canadian and American artists, curators, critics and journalists traveled to Inuvik, NWT at the invitation of the Edmonton Art Gallery. The artists executed a variety of outdoor works which were documented on the spot via text and photographs by curator/critic Lucy Lippard.

Curated by Johanne Lamoureux, Seeing in Tongues considers how questions of identity are posed within or against a nationalist agenda and examines the ways in which the language issue, an inescapable feature of the sociopolitical landscape of Quebec for some thirty years, has worked its way into the visual arts, where it has left its own figures and traces.
