Objects in My Imperfective Memories is a series of writings, sound pieces, performances and conversations by Nazanin Oghanian. The texts are handwritten pieces in Nazanin’s journal during the COVID-19 pandemic which she holds in her right hand during her performances. She had read these texts and recorded her voice. This is played from her cell phone during the performance as she reflects on them. Working in an autobiographical form, she finds herself in-between past and future in relation to present time. This self, which constantly switches between ‘past-’ ‘present-’ and ‘future-’, is a main aspect of these performances. These constructions and assemblages of past memories to the present-self are not limited to her own, but rather the formation of ‘self’ in relation to others, objects, space and time.
