Did you know that more than 80% of biographies on Wikipedia are about men? Since 2014, the annual Edit-a-thon has worked to address gaps in representation on Wikipedia. Writers, editors and creatives come together to improve existing articles or write new ones that amplify the voices of women and others who have been written out of the history of art.
Calling all creatives, feminists and Wikipedia enthusiasts! Join us on Thursday, 13 March 2025 at the Belkin for the annual ART+FEMINISM Edit-a-thon. Together, we’ll create and improve Wikipedia articles, amplifying the voices of women and others who have been written out of the history of art. In eight years of Vancouver ART+FEMINISM Edit-a-thons, 253 editors have contributed to new and existing articles and drawn over 5,600,000 views!
No experience? No problem! Two workshops will show you how to get started. Let’s make the internet a more inclusive place, one edit at a time.
