Join us at the gallery on Tuesday, 12 March 2024 from 11 am to 2:30 pm for the 2024 Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon. Each spring, art communities around the world come together to help correct Wikipedia’s gender biases and improve the content of under-represented persons on the tenth-most-visited site on the Internet.
In seven years of Vancouver Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thons, 222 editors have contributed to new and existing articles and drawn over 1,300,000 views! Together, we can continue to make a change. Help balance the imbalance by creating and editing Wikipedia articles about artists and curators who are women, 2SLGBTQ+, gender non-binary, people of colour, Black and Indigenous, as well as related activist art movements and organizations.
The Belkin invites participants of all genders and expressions. We’ll provide help for beginner Wikipedians, reference materials and technical support for making your edits.
Get started by joining the Belkin’s Wikipedia Dashboard.
